Braised chicken wings with lemon

Ingredients:
5 chicken wings
2 shallots (sliced)
2 cloves garlic (sliced)
1/2 onion (shredded)
1 tbsp of lemon juice
1/2 cup of water (add more when needed)

Seasonings:
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1/2 tbsp of shao hsing wine
1/2 tbsp rock sugar (to taste)
Dash of grounded pepper

Methods:

  1. Rinse the chicken wings, cut and discard the tips, cut into two and drain.
  2. In a wok, heat 1 tbsp of oil and fry chicken wings till slightly brown.
  3. Add onion, shallots and garlic, fry till fragrant, then add in seasonings and lemon juice, stir till well combined.
  4. Add water, braise over low heat and stir often, taste for correct seasoning. 
  5. When the gravy has reduced and the chicken is cooked, off the heat and serve.
